Curriculum: Elemental Science – Physics for the Grammar Stage
Ignite curiosity with our 3rd Grade Science class, where young scientists dive into the wonders of physics using Physics for the Grammar Stage from Elemental Science! This hands-on curriculum brings the physical world to life as students explore motion, energy, sound, light, and magnetism through engaging experiments and activities. Curriculum: Story of the World – Volume 1: Ancient Times
This is the first book in the Story of the World narrative history series used for elementary students at SLT. This award-winning series adapts well to SLT's unique hybrid structure and begins with a focus on on Egypt, Hammurabi and the Babylonians, the Greeks, China, Rome. Includes mapwork, vocabulary and review questions.

Institute for Excellence in Writing (IEW): Adventures in Writing
Literature selections: Findle, Mr. Popper's Penguines, Lemonade Wars
In 3rd Grade English Language Arts, students will continue building strong foundations in grammar, writing, reading comprehension, and literary discussion. This class is designed to support students in a hybrid homeschool setting by combining clear classroom instruction with meaningful at-home practice. Students will use Easy Grammar Grade 3 to strengthen their understanding of sentence structure, capitalization, punctuation, parts of speech, and other essential grammar skills. Writing instruction will be supported through Institute for Excellence in Writing (IEW): Adventures in Writing, helping students learn how to organize their thoughts, improve sentence quality, and write with greater clarity and confidence. Throughout the year, students will also read and discuss engaging literature selections such as Frindle, Mr. Popper’s Penguins, and Lemonade Wars. These books will give students opportunities to grow in vocabulary, comprehension, narration, character analysis, and thoughtful discussion. By the end of the course, students will have practiced important ELA skills in a balanced way, developing stronger grammar habits, more confident writing skills, and a deeper enjoyment of quality literature.
